Star Wars Weekends: Darth's Mall, You're a Stormtropper and Her Universe Merch!

I have the great privilege to go to Star Wars Weekends for a third year. I am so very excited!!!

The first year we went, in 2006 it was mayhem. The group of friends I was with basically did and saw everything and anything possible! We saw the all-star parade led by Warwick Davis. We met Warwick, Ray Park and Orli Shoshana that year. We participated in the Who Wants to Be A Millionaire Star Wars edition, we watched every Star Wars stage show and we rode Star Tours more times than I can remember!

I met the "real" Luke Skywalker a few years back but this will do too. haha
We skipped a few years in between knowing how crowded and crazy the SW Weekends can be. But last year we decided to go once the newly established D-Tech department came in and you could be Han Solo in Carbonite!!! So we made it happen. Below are pics from the carbonite experience.
You sit in a chair where cameras are all around your head to make it 3D. This is @JediN8

They ask you to make about 8 different faces.

Then they capture the one you decide on and render it to 3D form.

Last year we focused our time on seeing the Disney characters dressed up as SW characters - like Mickey was a Jedi of course, Minnie was Leia, Goofy was Darth Vader and Donald was a stormtrooper. It was a lot of fun seeing them all like that.

w/ @JediN8 and I don't think the Ewok wanted to let go of me.
And we spent a ton of money on merch alone in the Darth Mall. First time I had seen HerUniverse merch too so I splurged and bought the R2D2 "My Hero" tee, the Leia hoodie and the Jedi pendant, which I wear everyday. I don't regret it one bit! (Since then I've bought tons from her online shop and Hot Topic!)

This year, HerUniverse is stepping it up with new merch just for SW Weekends.
I want this pendant so badly! Only 500 will be at SW Wknds so I hope I get one!

Also new this year is a photo opportunity with a “life-size” rancor!!!! Wha?!? I know! I am so taking that picture!!

But also this year, in addition to the D-Tech Carbonite experience, there will be a Stormtrooper statue that is the same price of $99.95 + s/h each.

The bracelet comes with the carbonite figure because it's your tracking device. The stormtrooper button comes with the stormtrooper statue. They use the same scanning tech for the stormtrooper statue but this time it will be your whole head that gets scanned, not just your face. Also, the male heads can have a buzz cut, Han Solo hair or bald heads. Women only get the pulled back/bun hair because that's how it would fit under the helmet. I beg to differ if it were real life but I won't go there. haha

If you want to enjoy this experience, call 407-WDW-TECH (407-939-8324) to ask about availability. They only offer the experience during Star Wars Weekends 2013 (May 17 – 19, May 24 – 26, May 31 – June 2, and June 7 – 9).

Also starting to get mentioned are the SW related food options. They will offer this cupcake as they have in the past. I can attest it's delicious!

Previous years Disney had R2 popcorn buckets and plastic R2 steins. We have our fill of those in our home so I wonder what else they will be offering.

With the start of the Star Wars Weekends in a couple weeks, I can't wait to hear others posts and tales of the Rebel Alliance or turning to the Dark Side!
