Because Star Tours at Tokyo Disneyland opened in 1989, it recently had a major renovation and makeover to the attraction's line queue and of course to the ride itself, matching the newest 3D storylines to those in the United States.
Now called "Star Tours: The Adventure Continues" the new line queue is now much more interactive and looks more like a spaceport. The Imagineers had to convert an industrial warehouse space in order to achieve this. For Star Tours this actually blends well. The space also has a large video screen that indicates the type of flights and vehicles available for transport to the outer worlds. Even though for Star Tours it will be one specific vehicle, which the video illustrates.
The ride itself has changed to match that of the U.S.
counterparts which are in 3D and have more than 50 story combinations as a
random selection for each ride-through. Including visiting Tatooine, Coruscant,
the Death Star and more! Along with surprise encounters with many of the Star
Wars characters!
Tokyo did an amazing job redesigning the space and reimagining the ride for a whole new generation!
